Board Members
Andrea Hauge
Board Chair
Andrea Hauge previously worked as an investment banker and has experience in financial analysis, project management, and organizational strategy. A parent, former homeschooling educator, and tutor, she is deeply committed to applying cognitive science and rigorous academics to expand opportunity for students.
Jorge Garza
Secretary
Jorge Garza is a professional opera singer, entrepreneur, and founder of the Segundo Barrio Children’s Chorus and Garza Studios. A lifelong resident of Houston’s Second Ward, he brings deep community ties and a passion for expanding access to music education for local families.
Andrew Davis
Vice Chair
Andrew Davis is the founding Dean of the University of Houston’s Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. He joined FLAMA to help expand access to high-quality arts education and strengthen connections between Houston’s cultural institutions and young learners.
Eddie Cumbo
Board Member
Eddie Cumbo brings years of experience in K–12 schools. A life-long member of Houston’s Fifth Ward community, he contributes strong local connections and a commitment to the neighborhood.
Anthony Blanco
Treasurer
Anthony Blanco has more than 15 years of corporate finance experience across the energy, commercial real estate, and media sectors, with expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and capital raising. As a parent of elementary-age children in Houston public schools, he is committed to ensuring strong financial stewardship and expanding educational options .
James McSwain
Board Member
James McSwain is Director of Principal and Superintendent Certification at Houston Christian University and a veteran school administrator with more than 35 years of leadership experience. His deep expertise in public-school leadership and superintendent preparation helps guide FLAMA as it builds a strong academic and operational foundation.
